The Association of Professional Landscape Designers
APLD’s mission is to advance the profession of landscape design, promote our members as qualified and dedicated professionals, uphold our code of ethics and advance professional practices, be the source of thought leadership in responsible and innovative design, and foster creativity to inspire passion for excellence.
It Takes a Professional
A well-designed landscape is shaped from a complex assortment of elements. The professional landscape designer works continually to know and understand these elements, through education, seminars, and networking, to better use them in the landscape.
A designer’s familiarity with these elements, provides the ability to pull them together to produce a design that is both functional and beautiful, and meets the needs and goals of the client.
Our featured designer is not one, but two designers, Carrie Maher and Mark Greenwald, of Maher & Greenwald Fine Gardens, Inc.
Both longtime members of APLDCT, Mark and Carrie are designers of private residences, public gardens and commercial properties throughout the New York metropolitan area, Westchester Counties and the Hudson Valley in New York, and Fairfield County in Connecticut.
Please join us as we tour the beautiful gardens at Insitu in Redding, Connecticut! We’ll meet at the garden on the morning of August 27, then after touring we’ll make our way to one of the local restaurants for lunch. Note: Tickets and Lunch are at your expense, and garden tickets must be purchased in advance at the Garden Conservancy website prior to the event. More details to come!Find out more »
