Promoting and Supporting Landscape Design in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers – APLDCT – promotes and supports landscape design in Connecticut, with educational, social, and networking opportunities, for our members and the design community. We are committed to the highest professional standards, and work with our members to grow as professional landscape designers.

A letter from the President

…for summer is a time of exuberance. Perennial gardens burst with color and hum with activity as birds and insects busily go about their business. Grasses explode with energy as they send seed heads skyward and dance in the soft, warm, breezes. It’s also a time to reflect…

It Takes a Professional

A well-designed landscape is shaped from a complex assortment of elements. The professional landscape designer works continually to know and understand these elements, through education, seminars, and networking, to better use them in the landscape.

A designer’s familiarity with these elements, provides the ability to pull them together to produce a design that is both functional and beautiful, and meets the needs and goals of the client.

Featured Member

Our featured designer is not one, but two designers, Carrie Maher and Mark Greenwald, of Maher & Greenwald Fine Gardens, Inc.

Both longtime members of APLDCT, Mark and Carrie are designers of private residences, public gardens and commercial properties throughout the New York metropolitan area, Westchester Counties and the Hudson Valley in New York, and Fairfield County in Connecticut.
